UTeM provides structured support services for students from low-income families to help them continue and complete their studies successfully. The university prioritises student welfare and ensures that those in financial need receive appropriate assistance. Through the Student Welfare Unit, UTeM offers:
Financial aid (endowment fund, donation fund, waqf fund) and fee assistance for students from B40 and Asnaf households
Food support programmes, including distribution of food packs and meal assistance
Short-term financial loan schemes for students facing urgent financial difficulties
In-kind support, such as donated essential items and daily living supplies
These support mechanisms are available throughout the students’ academic journey and are designed to reduce financial hardship, encourage continued participation in university life, and support successful degree completion.
The amount of contributions collected from various parties (corporate companies, external agencies, public person, individuals and alumni) including UTeM staff until 31 August 2024 as Table below:
UTeM students also receive financial assistance from Short Term Loans (PJP), where in the year 2024, a total of 223 students have received benefits from this loan involving an amount worth RM104,760.00.
Besides, UTeM offers zakat assistance and initial study advances to eligible students.
